This day is truely memorable. A day off! I can finally do what I never do: scurrying the internet for random stuff and fashion updates. Since I have had my new job, at a super large chain of fashion stores, things have been hectic. No more time for shopping, drawing, drinking coffee with Robin.. oh well, at least I earn some dough! I managed to reward myself with a cute new bag
though!

Since it's my day off, I get to eat some yummy stuff too. Mum & me went to a small shop that sells lots of good baked goods!

My new chocolate friends, the owls!

Marzipan pie.. mmmm...

Lapis legit, better known in Holland as Spekkoek. Traditional dutch-indonesian cake. Extremely yummy but oh so heavy on the stomach!

Here is a small story I drew in dutch, for kids. Click to enlarge.

Ok, back to internet strolling and thinking about fluxal force fields with Robin when she gets back from her dreading drawing class.

I tried something new today. Strong, black coffee. Espresso. This was a.. weird sensation. We might be coffee lovers, but I think this is a tad too much. Maybe when we are old and grey.

Today was a day with a mission. We went to IKEA (again) for inspiration on Robin's assignment. I will be her source of inspiration! I feel so flattered. She will be designing a foldable, reusable coffee cup. We considered materials, folding systems, but also the part of the cup in this wasteful, take-away society that we all love to participate in. If she manages to work this concept out on a level that makes it possible to take it into production, it could be a revolution. It has been tried before, so good thinking is required to make it work. Lets hope her teacher supports her as much
as I do.

Robin on a really big chair, a stunt by IKEA. They handed out vouchers for free soup too, and we got two! So nice of the people. Students + free lunch - instant love. ♥

In my mind, I am already decorating the house we will be living in in a few years. When I have finished my bachelors degree, and maybe masters if my sanity can take it, I will move to Norway and live there in the mountains with my boyfriend. I was thinking about something like this:

This house is in Dombås, relatively close to Trondheim!
Anyway, I bought some supercute tea towels with cupcakes. How sweet! IKEA, 3,99 for three. They match cutely with the handtowels with coffee cups I got a while ago.

My plush crab enjoys junk food. A lot. He keeps begging for more, so we made him some real burgers. We gave him what he wants, and he still doesn't look happy. FML.

Lectures are bad. Lectures are not friends.
Lectures are bad for brain capacity.

Usually, inspiration is found on the places where you least expect it. When you force yourself into thinking of ideas, none usually pop up.

Not in our case. Today, we went to IKEA to focus and concentrate. With a free cup of coffee (which ended up in being the first of three cups), we let the magic of the common folk inspire us and lift us to great industrial design minds. I guess. The hours went by, filled with Hummers, geeky men taking pictures of eachother taking pictures, overly active idea generation to the maximum level.

Yummy, automatically generated steamy milk.
Just one button-press away.

And I must say, we have got a winner on our hands. A novelty product which is greatly needed by a certain group of people. Think artsy-fartsy. Think young urban professional. Think gadget freak. We will need to work this idea out but it has all the potential of a money making cash cow. Uhm, I mean, the potential of a useful product which fulfills a gap in the market. Keep your eyes on this space. Keep them glued to the screen. (That is, if you are not in the possession of a life. If you do, check back in some time.)

I have toads on my sweater.

The earls favour the flavour of simple pistachio nuts. They are greasy too. What is more to love?
